sydney opera house

art direction

curved shells, no flat surface anywhere, and a campaign built on flat panels.

the opera house has no plane to project onto. every shell curves away in two directions at once, so a panel laid across it stretches at the edges and any straight line in the artwork bends.

so the artwork was rebuilt to suit it: motifs that have no straight edges to break, scaled per shell so each one reads as a complete thing rather than as a slice of a larger image that happens to be interrupted by the roof.
